RAK – Sri Lanka Business Forum & Trade Fair to propel business growth

UAE Ras-Al-Khaimah (RAK): Ras- Al-Khaimah is a world-class business and industrial hub, boasting the RAK Economic Zone with around 16000 business entities from over 100 countries. The UAE is the eighth largest export destination for Sri Lankan products. In 2022, Sri Lanka exported USD 345.82 million to the United Arab Emirates, while imports were USD 950.36 million. Sri Lanka’s exports to the UAE increased by 20.11% in 2022.

To strengthen economic and business linkages between Sri Lankan companies and counterparts in the region, the first ever Single Country Exhibition is going to be held at the RAK Expo Centre from April 16th to 20th for the benefit of the Sri Lankan business.

The RAK – Sri Lanka Business Forum & Trade Fair 2024, will only be for the Sri Lankan companies. In addition to the exhibition B2B meeting and ministerial conference is also planned.

The event is organized by Chamber of Tourism and Industry Sri Lanka (CTISL) in partnership with Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RAK CCI) and supported by the Sri Lankan business council in Dubai (SLBC) in collaboration with Government of Sri Lanka and other business organizations.

The main purpose of the event is to promote Sri Lankan products and services in the UAE and Middle Eastern countries and in the African continent to strengthen economic cooperation between RAK (UAE) Africa and Sri Lanka.

Some of the specific objectives of the RAK – Sri Lanka Business Forum & Trade Fair. Will be to explore new opportunities for Sri Lankan business entities in the UAE, Gulf and Middle East economic contexts. It also aims to strengthen business linkages between Sri Lankan companies and counterparts in the UAE, Gulf and Middle East.

To promote Sri Lankan exports, i.e., products and services, in the UAE, Gulf and Middle East markets. • To enhance bilateral trade, investments, employment opportunities, tourism and financial cooperation between Sri Lanka and UAE.

The event is scheduled to showcase the products and services of more than 230 businesses to international consumers, distributors, partners and investors, shedding the spotlight on Sri Lankan companies on a global stage.

The participants for this exhibition will get an opportunity to promote their products and services in Ras-Al-Khaimah which is also a gateway to the global market.
